The work for reproductive freedom does not end with abortion access. We know that attacks on bodily autonomy especially hurt black, brown, and trans bodies. We are deeply connected to movements for racial justice, LGBTQ rights, and other social movements impacting individuals from marginalized groups and communities.
Established in 1989, the Louisiana Coalition for Reproductive Freedom (LCRF) has adapted and evolved over the past 25 years.
The current iteration of LCRF emerged in 2014 in response to proposed changes to abortion clinic licensing regulations, sparking a multi-year focus on legislative advocacy.
However, the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the subsequent challenges faced by our member organizations necessitated a shift in our focus and approach. Today, we proudly provide resources and support to all our members, including those involved in legislative advocacy, community doulas, and our creative league. We believe that ensuring their success will enable us to achieve our ultimate vision of full bodily autonomy for everyone. LCRF is proud to be a fiscally-sponsored project of Foundation for Louisiana.
